We are a 501c3 Creating spaces where historically discriminated communities can access water-centered activities.
Why?
Palmar believes in the power of community and nature. That’s why we make space for everyone, especially folks who haven’t always been included to feel more connected in the water and outdoors.
Surfing, paddle-boarding, camping, creating art, and playing near water can feel unfamiliar, and that’s okay. We’ve got the gear, knowledge, and good vibes so you can show up as you are to try these water-centered activities in a safe circle. We hope you have fun, stay open-minded, and learn something new about yourself, others, or nature.

Equity first
We believe everyone belongs in the water. Because of that, we remove barriers to accessing water-centered activities. What this looks like is providing no to low cost clinics, offering rides to and from the beach, bringing translators, and more.
Care for People
We meet people where they are. We’re your friend who listens to understand. We might not have all the answers, but know that we got you. We want to learn from your cultures, experiences, and backgrounds.
Power of Play
We believe play matters. Surf skating, paddleboarding, surfing, camping, and making art by the water connect you with nature and yourself. We cheer you on when you fall. For us, it’s about having fun—riding waves or relaxing at the beach.
Care for Planet
We believe taking care of the ocean and environment is essential. As more people feel connected to nature, we hope you also feel the same. What this looks like is being conscientious in what we consume, what we support, and how we play in nature.
